Welcome to Tank Mates news update, check here for full coverage and photos on our upcoming events and shows thats related to our friendly tank buddies and first hand informations on our new products as well as the progress on our new designs!!

So far the toughest guy in the tank has been the L240, the royal can hold his own, but he usually don't start anything and when he does go head to head with the L240, he will fleet after exchange few good blows, all others are consider good model citizens, except the L240, he runs over everyone when he feels like it, and let everyone know hes the boss. But hes gonna be challanged~cause there is a new boy in town, today I bought home a L204 about 12CM in length, know for it’s aggressiveness, I know theres going to be some battles, interesting to see what happens. Will the L240 defend his king status or will the new L204 take his crown? We shell see~ but anyway usually it's the poor corys who get cought in the middle of the cross fire that suffers...
Ready and Armed!

You look at me? you looking at me?!

I fight anyone!

I am constantly looking for books about fish to help me with my design and reserch for Tank Mates, here is a book that one of my friend found for me in japan( thanks Kiyomi~) it's called Pleconia Plecographic vol.2( still in search fo vol.1 ). Like all japanese things, the book itself is well designed, well use of fronts and cute graphics, also one nice info that this book has, is that its got a lot of top shots of almost all the plecos.

I am
pretty impressed with myself, I actully lasted a month with out getting new fish for my tank, well all thanks to the overwhelming works that we had, so it keeps me infront of my desk and aways from fish store, or anything else I want
to do for that matters. Anyway we met the deadline and the work was well done~so time to march to the LFS to pick up some fish and enjoy the sun~ the store had just got some new plecos in, I picked up a L002 Peckoltia vermiculatal / Tiger and a L239 Ancistrinae sp.both looks to be healthy with full belly nice clean line patten on the L002, and good color for the L239. I usually take my time to observe
the fishes before I buy them, and try
to pick the active and healthy fish in the batch. But its hard to pick for plecos cause
they are usually in hiding. So its hard to take a good look at them.

Here is an article I found online, feel sorry for the poor little fish, who has to listen to like heavy metal or gangster rap all day from like 1 inch away...

At first glance this little speaker/fish tank might look like an media
player with a video of a fish on it, but if you watch long enough you’ll notice
that the fish never leaves the screen, and it doesn’t shut off. The device is
called the iPond (yet another clever ‘i’ name) and is being sold in Australia
as a small portable aquarium complete with gravel on the bottom and a live
fish. It also contains a speaker built into the bottom and a headphone jack to
plug in your MP3 player, but some are complaining that this doesn’t leave a lot
of room for the fish.
Inside the iPond is a Siamese fighting fish that might usually be sold in smaller tanks, but not quite this small. In fact the RSPCA in Australia is asking that the small portable tank be banned since it is not providing an adequate environment with it’s 2.5+ cups of water.
